Message Hey guys,

In Canada, we have regulations that state that we need to have a license plate mounted at the front of the vehicle for 4 out of 13 provinces (British Columbia, Ontario, Manitoba and New Brunswick). For the rest we don't require them up front.

Being in British Columbia requires me to put a license plate up in the front, but the 300zx currently doesn't have mounting brackets for the normal location. So currently the license plate lives up on top of the branch. Problem is, depending on which municipalities your currently in, the cops will issue ticket you for incorrectly displaying the license plate. The license plate is still located in front of the vehicle. IIRC, the regulation just says that you have to put it in the front of the vehicle, but doesn't specify where exactly.

Some of you guys have your license plates not in its regular spot up front. Sometimes its offset to the side or sometime its even over the SMIC duct probably because you have a front mounted intercooler. Sometimes putting up on your dash works although the cop might be an ass. Sometimes some people put it behind the bumper right into where you might see the oil cooler.

Ideally, the license plate shouldn't be up there. Without the mounting bracket the mustache area is nice and smooth. A license plate kind of ruins the lines.

Has anybody been successful with magnets? Maybe if there were some strong magnets up front behind the mustache that could work.

How did you place your license plates in those odd places... Drilling? Zap straps? let me know.
